Matija Kovačević
Member of the Management Board and Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Matija Kovačević was born in Nova Gradiška in 1977. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics & Business in Zagreb.
During his professional career, he gained extensive international experience predominantly in the telecommunications industry, with expertise in controlling, strategy and transformation.
He joined Hrvatski Telekom in 2003 and has held several managerial positions in areas of strategic planning, controlling and finance. He also participated in the acquisition of Combis and Iskon. In 2009, he was appointed as a member of the Management Board and Chief Financial Officer at Iskon, contributing to the company's business turnaround.
He continued his career at Deutsche Telekom in 2010, where he held several executive positions at the DT Head office in Germany and in Greece. Among others, he was responsible for the financial and business steering of Deutsche Telekom's subsidiaries in Greece, Romania, Albania and Bulgaria, has lead numerous transformation and operating model change initiatives in Greece, as well as controlling of European Headquarters of Deutsche Telekom.
He returned to Hrvatski Telekom in late 2020 taking over the position of Director of the Controlling, Transformation and Investor Relations. He was appointed to Management Board and assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer as of August 1, 2022.
