Mr. Mark Nierwetberg studied International Relations in Duesseldorf, Washington DC and London and graduated from the University of Kent in Canterbury, UK.
Mr Nierwetberg started his caerer with vwd/Dow Jones Newswires as business and financial journalist covering the technology and telecommunications sectors. Since 2002, he has been working at Deutsche Telekom AG at managerial level. His main focus has been in Corporate Communications as Head of Corporate Issues, responsible for communications regarding regulation, data privacy, compliance and crisis communications.
Currently he is Vice President Board Member Support, overseeing the office of the Board Member Europe & Technology of Deutsche Telekom.
Dr. Elias Drakopoulos holds a BSc in electrical engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and MSc and PhD degrees from Northwestern University, Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science in Evanston, Illinois, USA. He also completed postgraduate studies in business management and strategy at INSEAD, France. He has published more than 30 papers on technical and techno-economic issues.
Dr Drakopoulos is currently Senior Vice President Business Excellence at Deutsche Telekom, leading the B2B/ICT business for Europe and the global multinational corporation business for mobility services.
Prior to this he held a number of roles at Greek telecommunications provider OTE, where he was Chief Technology & Operations Officer from 2011. From 2008 to 2010 he was Chief Commercial Officer for Enterprise & Business Services, and prior to that from 2003 to 2008 he was General Manager Technology, Strategy & Development and then CEO at OTENET.
From 1998 to 2003 he held various executive positions at Lucent Technologies, responsible for solutions, business development and marketing for Europe and was based in London. From 1989 to 1998, he held various managerial positions at AT&T and Bell Laboratories in USA, where he was responsible for network & systems planning & design, and techno-economic analysis, while in parallel was adjunct Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
