The Zagreb Stock Exchange Awards for 2017 were presented during a ceremony held in Zagreb on 12 December 2017. Hrvatski Telekom is yet again one of the recognition award winners, this year for the extraordinary contribution to capital market development.
The Zagreb Stock Exchange has provided the following explanation for this recognition award: "This year, we are marking the 10th anniversary of the listing of Hrvatski Telekom d.d. in the Zagreb Stock Exchange Official Market. In addition to having been at the time the largest Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the region, which saw the participation of 356 members of the general public, an important breakthrough was made concerning the acceptance of shareholder culture. In addition, for most Croatian citizens, the Initial Public Offering of HT stock also provided an insight into the basics of the functioning of capital markets. The mobilisation of the members of the general public and their capital provided a significant contribution to capital market education. Whilst this type of investment has become a standard in developed countries, in our transitional economy it was practically still at its inception at the time.
The Zagreb Stock Exchange and the entire local and regional labour market had then become visible also on the global investment map. The HT stock has shown the highest trading liquidity at the Zagreb Stock Exchange throughout the decade. It is simultaneously amongst the stocks with the highest market capitalisation, whereas it has also been an integral component of several indices at the Zagreb Stock Exchange since the IPO.
Hrvatski Telekom is the winner of a large number of awards and recognition awards in the field of investor relations, and it is considered a benchmark for other companies.
In 2010, when we first launched the Best Investor Relations Award by Poslovni dnevnik and the Zagreb Stock Exchange, Hrvatski Telekom was the first laureate. Out of 8 award ceremonies held thus far, HT was declared amongst the best for seven times, of which it ranked first three times, which is the best result amongst all the award winners."
Daniel Daub, Member of the Management Board and Chief Financial Officer, accepted the recognition award on behalf of HT for its extraordinary contribution to capital market development. Upon this occasion, he pointed out: "We are extremely honoured and delighted to accept the award by the Zagreb Stock Exchange for the extraordinary contribution to capital market development. In addition, it happened in the year in which we have marked the 10th anniversary of the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of our stock in 2007. Throughout these years, HT has been granted a large number of awards in the field of capital markets and investor relations, which we consider as market recognition for our continuous efforts in setting and maintaining high standards in this specific business field. We are particularly delighted with the fact that out of around 356,000 members of the general public who purchased stock during the IPO, almost 50% of them have held the stock and are currently still satisfied shareholders in our company."
