- 8052 runners from 448 companies gathered at Jarun and ran more than 40,000 kilometers, closing the business racing season
After Split, Rijeka, and Osijek, now is the turn for the last edition of HT B2Run business race in Zagreb. This is the fifth time that this largest business race is run in the capital, and this year more than 8,000 runners from 448 companies gathered at the new location, Jarun Lake, and together ran more than 40,000 kilometers and used up 2,625,000 calories. This year's record in the number of runners placed Zagreb's race just behind Germany, making it the second-largest business race in Europe. But despite the record numbers, the real win went to those whose focus is not just on sports, but primarily entertainment, socializing, team building, and other aspects relevant to business success.
The excitement could be felt from the very start, where the runners had a great time with music, song, and dance, and during the race they cheered for each other. The dance and good fun were not only reserved for the start, they continued after the race on the Universiade Island where the runners rested and refreshed, and after the awards ceremony they danced to a great atmosphere.
The increasing number of runners in Zagreb, as well as in other cities, shows us that more and more employers are recognizing the benefits that an active lifestyle has on improving employee performance. New rules and awards were introduced at this year's race, but one thing remained the same - a great atmosphere and great entertainment. After the race, and before the start of the entertainment program organized for all runners, special B2Run awards were awarded at the local level and also at the national level. Namely, although not primarily competitive, HT B2Run has secured awards for runners.
The award for the Most Creative Team at the Zagreb HT B2Run Race was won by the Ruđer Bošković Institute & Ruđer Medikol Ciklotron, who, according to the expert creative jury, had the best motivational slogan that reads: We are not running, this is just an experiment. The award for The MostFIT Team for small businesses went to TMF Croatia d.o.o., for medium-sized businesses to Degordian d.o.o. while Rimac Automobiles d.o.o. received the MostFIT large company award.
The fastest association/club this year is TK Marathon Krapina, the fastest is trade Stolarija i pilana Ratković, owner Miljenko Ratković, the best small business at this year's B2Run race is Keindl Sport trgovina d.o.o; medium is Dechatlon Zagreb d.o.o., while the award for the fastest large enterprise was awarded to Zagreb Military College.
In addition to the awards given at the local level, after the race in Zagreb, awards also be given at the national level based on the results of all four races together, and the award ceremony will take place when the results at the level of the year-round series of races are processed. The awards will be presented in the categories fastest runner for men and women, fastest state institution, fastest IT firm, fastest beverage maker, fastest food maker, fastest media team, fastest YOUNG LIONS, most motivated team, and best cheerleading team.
HT B2Run has also had a humanitarian character this year, thanks to HT as the main partner. All runners - participants could do a good deed with their 'race time'. All four races measured the fastest passing time of all runners in all four cities, and HT decided to reward the fastest city with a digital literacy program for the local population. The city of Split is the fastest to reach this year's humanitarian goal, making technology more accessible and comprehensible to its inhabitants and thus improving the quality of life.
