The new season of the biggest regional business race HT B2Run was officially announced today on the shore of the Zagreb Lake Jarun on the terrace of the iconic Aquarius club. Four HT B2Run races will take place for the fifth consecutive year in four Croatian cities - Split (April 25), Rijeka (May 23), Osijek (June 12), and Zagreb (October 3). Over the past years, more than 8,500 runners from more than 500 domestic and foreign companies with business addresses in Croatia ran, and today's press conference announced that this year 10,000 and more runners are expected in these four cities!
On the International Women's Day, the race was symbolically presented by women - representatives of the most successful Croatian (running) companies HT, GRAWE and HEINEKEN Croatia with the organizer of the HT B2Run business race and the director of the Zagreb Primary School Bartol Kašić, pointing out that this sporting event proved to be “an effective tool to strengthen corporate culture, employee satisfaction, connect with the business community, and encourage employees to adopt healthy living habits to help overcome their private and business challenges.”
According to Danijela Somek, member of the race’s organizing committee, this year the HT B2Run races have many novelties compared to the previous ones:"This year, the B2Run business race has become a part of the international B2Run family, enrolling on the global race map of the world, gaining a new visual concept and changing the race itself into" HT B2Run". Thus, our runners run in Split, Rijeka, Osijek and Zagreb will run under the same name as more than 250,000 participants from eleven countries around the world. Starting this year, anyone who is employed and over 18 years old can run.We have opened an opportunity for new runners in new categories such as Trades and Associations or Clubs. Of course, as every year, an excellent entertainment program will take place after the race! “
In addition, this year’s race differs from the previous ones because of its humanitarian character. Namely, thanks to HT, the main partner of the race, this year, all runners will do a good deed with their “race time”. Nina Išek Međugorac, Director of Corporate Communications of Hrvatski Telekom presented the humanitarian flavor of the HT B2Run race: “Running affects our feelings and thinking; helps restore focus, reduce stress and improve mood. That is why we want the more people to come to race and do something good for themselves. But this time we saw in the race the opportunity for participants to do something good for the wider community as well. That is why we have introduced a competitive element that further motivates people to participate and help their city to win. The idea is to measure the fastest time of all runners in all four cities, and in the city that wins HT will carry out a digital literacy program for the local population. Today technology has to be equally accessible and understandable to everyone, and with this project, we will make life better, easier and better for many.”
This year again, the HT B2Run race is joined by the insurance company GRAWE that has been promoting the race culture among employees, business partners and the public for many years.
“We support the B2RUN race from the very beginnings because the values and goals are in line with our PoKRENI initiative, which we have been carrying out for five years, with which we are trying to raise awareness of the necessity of introducing healthy habits to improve the quality of life. Through the initiative we strive to encourage all those who have not yet tried to run, but also encourage the runners themselves to animate new runners in their environments with their own experience, example, and motivation. When we copy that to the moving inside the offices, teams or whole organization we see the story told by B2RUN. That is why we invite all recreational and passionate runners to animate as many colleagues as possible in their work environment and turn the work team into a track team,” said Sanja Gržetić, head of the Corporate Communications and Marketing Department at GRAWE Hrvatska d.d.
The HT B2Run business race this year is joined by the global brand Heineken 0.0. As an official beer
of the HT B2Run race, Heineken 0.0 will rehydrate the runners. After the race an entertainment program will be organized for all runners where they will refresh with Heineken 0.0 and the original Heineken.
“In addition to the popularity of running and healthy lifestyle, the popularity of natural soft drinks is growing, so our Heineken 0.0 with its 0.0% alcohol, only 69 calories and quality ingredients are considered ideal refreshments for all runners. We are delighted our employees are joining and the B2Run will be another opportunity for recreation and entertainment,” said Romina Ivančić, Director of Human Resources Sector Director at HEINEKEN Hrvatska.
In addition to numerous business entities, the HT B2Run race is run by representatives of many socially important institutions and organizations. One of these is the Bartol Kašić Elementary School from Zagreb, whose director Dijana Kopčić is also the team captain decided to “take the matter in her own hands” and registered her colleagues, teachers and employees, for the Zagreb race: The purpose of the registering for this race was to raise awareness of healthy living in our collective, but also to show to our students how mobility and physical activity are of great importance to health, physical and mental both. We also wanted to encourage children and adults to spend more time actively in nature believing that work and learning would thus be more successful and easier. We would also like to be an example that will motivate other schools to apply so that running and moving would become part of everyday life for many people and children.”
The new Zagreb location was also disclosed during the press conference. The HT B2Run race this year will take place at the Jarun lake. Let's remember, until now, the race was run in and around The Zagreb Fair.
At the very end of the gathering Nina Išek Međugorac, director of Corporate Communications of Hrvatski Telekom, gave to all those present at the HT B2Run press conference specially designed HT magenta racing trainers and thus challenged her “business” colleagues to personally run at this biggest and most popular business race in the Region.
