Strategic topics are carefully selected each year to follow the latest technological trends from the STEM area, and this year they are: “Cloud”, “Internet of Things”, “Artificial Intelligence", “Cyber Security” and “Network of the Future”. Graduate or master's thesis must be in English or German, and applications will be collected until March 17, 2019. Awards to winners, in the total amount of 5500 euros, will be given in June 2019 at a ceremony in Bonn.
"Hrvatski Telekom is the main promoter of STEM in Croatia and has an active role in society in promoting women's leadership, especially in the STEM field. Starting a career in STEM's professions opens up many opportunities to young women professionals for development and career advancement as STEM knowledge and skills are driving the advancement of the digital economy, part of the economy that grows up to seven times faster than the classic economy. An international program such as the "Woman STEM Award" provides to young professionals an excellent starting position for a STEM career,” said Nina Išek Međugorac, director of Corporate Communications of Hrvatski Telekom.
With a high female share of as much as 46% in its management team, Hrvatski Telekom is one of the leading Crtian, but also European telecommunications companies by the representation of women in the management structure. In this way, HT's own example encourages greater participation of women in the positions of well-paid professionals and their career development towards managerial positions.
One of the key factors in attracting and retaining women managers, as well as women in general, especially in the dynamic telecommunications industry, is certainly the balance between private and business life, where HT, as a MAMFORCE company, pays special attention and is embedded in core values of corporate culture of Hrvatski Telekom.
