Overview of selected projects
Contest was open to educational institutions, non-profits and the applicant communities or partner projects. With the Generation Next donation contest, Hrvatski Telekom aims to encourage youngsters, but also the whole society to acquire new knowledge and to implement practical projects from the STEM area. Strengthening knowledge and skills from the STEM area is key to stimulating an innovative and smart society that can take full advantage of the existing technology.
In the last two years, the Generation Next donation contest has been directed to acquiring precisely such skills. During that period, more than 160 schools were equipped with advanced equipment for IoT based projects, and more than 2000 children participated in the projects with more than 130 mentors trained. Also, a one of a kind astrobiology lab in Višnjan was equipped. More than 700 children a year go through it and there have been more than 300 mentors educated.
Since the launch of the project in 2004, Hrvatski Telekom has supported the implementation of about 300 projects with nearly 10 million kunas, which have contributed positively to various segments of the society.
