Organized by the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development (HR PSOR), the signing ceremony of the Diversity Charter Croatia was held in Zagreb. The Charter is the initiative launched in 16 European Union countries, with the aim of encouraging the implementation of diversity policy in the business sector. Diversity is one of the fundamental values of a modern society. Employees, in their diversity, with their skills, creativity and innovation, represent the key to the long-term success of each organization. Diversity makes it possible to realize the full potential of every person, and diversity and non-discrimination policies at the workplace are prerequisites for the development of creativity, innovation and individual talents.
Hrvatski Telekom is one of the 34 signatories. Davor Tomašković, the President of the Management Board signed it on behalf of Hrvatski Telekom and said on that occasion:
"It is an extraordinary honor and pleasure that Hrvatski Telekom is a signatory of the Diversity Charter, which recognizes the importance of diversity in the business world and in society.
I would like to point out that in Hrvatski Telekom we have 46 percent of women in senior and top management and exceed the share of women in the total number of employees, and I am particularly proud of it. The high proportion of women in managerial positions in the telecom industry is unusual, so this situation in Hrvatski Telekom demonstrates that career development depends solely on competences."
