Today the exhibition Mobile Revolution 1991- 2016, was officially opened in HT museum. Through the most important moments it shows the development of mobile telephony in the last 25 years in Croatia, where Hrvatski Telekom played a key role. The exhibition is a gift to citizens who will be able to visit it throughout the next year free of charge.
The new exhibition offers a unique overview of "revolutionary" mobile technology and services - from the first mobile devices whose price was up to 15,000 Deutsch Marks, over the first SMS in 1999, to 4G technology and new services such as Stream On, which is unique in the entire European market.
"Our network is the best in speed, coverage and quality. Today, we have more than 2.3 million mobile users and provide maximum 4G coverage throughout Croatia, and continuously invest in further development. That is exactly what our customers recognize which is confirmed by their loyalty over the years,“ said CEO of Hrvatski Telekom Davor Tomašković.
The development of mobile telephony in Croatia began in 1991 when then HPT, whose legal successor in the telecom business is HT, presented Croatia's first commercial mobile phone network "Mobitel". The exhibition follows the further development of devices of four generations of mobile telephony and key periods, such as the introduction of second-generation network (GSM), which is based on digital technology that has enabled the development of the most advanced services that we have today.
"This exhibition clearly demonstrates why our customers trust us all these years – we are always the first on the market to introduce innovative technologies and services for the best communication and entertainment. We connect them with their loved ones and the world around them with revolutionary technological solutions, and they are the first ones in Europe to enjoy some services such as Stream On,” said Nataša Rapaić, HT Management Board member for residential customers.
Today, mobile phone is an indispensable device in our daily lives we are rarely apart from. The exhibition reminds us that considerable investments in infrastructure were needed to enable users to freely communicate and with the entertainment they have now at any moment. In this HT, as the leading telecommunications operator played a key role.
All visitors can visit the exhibition free of charge until the end of next year, in HT Museum at Jurišićeva 13.
