Hrvatski Telekom donation contest Together We Are Stronger (Zajedno smo jači) has been announced this year at an earlier date in relation to previous years, whilst the contest winners can count on substantially more generous donations standing at a stunning HRK 350,000 per project. During the last decade, HT has supported the implementation of almost 240 valuable projects through provision of over HRK 8 million funding through this contest.
Similar to previous years, Together We Are Stronger contest is open for non-profit organisations headquartered in Croatia, whereas the projects eligible for it need to apply at least one telecommunications technology and be considered of importance for the local, as well as for the broader community.
Projects promoting STEM education intended for elementary school pupils are eligible and will be given priority, since they provide the opportunity for children to acquire knowledge in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through practical work and games. The first of the two categories is intended exclusively for projects using robotic or sensor systems, programming, or innovative communications. The second category comprises of projects educating through conducting scientific experiments or those intended to arouse interest of pupils in science.
Projects are submitted electronically to the website www.zajednosmojaci.hr. The contest is open for applications during the period from 25 April to 15 May 2016.
Project selection procedure has been slightly altered this year. After the expiration of the deadline for applications, from 18 May to 25 May, HT employees will be provided the opportunity to select 10 projects published on the HT Intranet through an internal voting system, on which the final selection will be made by the Expert Jury. The final winners in each of the two categories will be announced on 6 June via press release, social networks, and on the project website www.zajednosmojaci.hr.
The total value of all the donations awarded to two winning projects stands at HRK 700,000, i.e. HRK 350,000 per project selected by the Expert Jury.
