More than thousand runners participate on the first race - B2B Run - held on 17 September in Zagreb's Maksimir Park. Hrvatski Telekom was the General Sponsor of the Run, which exceeded all expectations of the runners, the organiser, and the fans.
The HT running team took silver in the large company category and, thanks to the huge response by our employees and the excellent result, we were pronounced the Top-Fit Company in the large company category!
Hrvatski Telekom is a long-standing friend of Croatian sports and sponsor of competitions in a variety of sporting activities. Running is the only sport where World and European champions can appear shoulder to shoulder with absolute beginners, and this is exactly the kind of convergence we found so attractive. In our Company, we have runners who are trophy winners and national team members, but when we saw that more than 170 runners had signed up for the Run, we knew that this was a run we had to support. This way, we wish to encourage others to engage in physical activities which we deem to be quite significant in business development as well. And that is not all – by participation in the B2B Run, all our competitors were ambassadors of the “Together We Are Stronger” donation competition, which aims to support a variety of positive projects, from humanitarian to educational ones.
More than 170 competitors participated in the Run for Hrvatski Telekom, from the most experienced ones, who were among the first to reach the finish line, to the absolute beginners, who experienced what kind of joy running and particularly running competitions can offer. As, truly, in running it is not important to win (author's note: OK, it is, a little bit), but the essential thing is to have a good time, to feel how one's own capacities can be improved, and to enjoy each step in nature. Running is the only sport where professional and recreational sportspersons can train in the open throughout the whole year and under all weather conditions, thus being able to raise both their fitness and motivation, not only for sports competitions, but also in their business and private life.
This is exactly why Hrvatski Telekom's decision to support this competition and to enable its employees to participate by paying their registration fee (and they also got a dr-fit t-shirt, buff, and a water bottle) clearly showed that HT had chosen the right values in promoting corporate social responsibility.
