At yesterday's media conference held in Zagreb, Hrvatski Telekom announced its Business Wall of Fame Contest, to find and reward innovative business applications for small and mid-sized businesses from all industries. The Contest is geared towards IT companies and startup founders who would like to promote their app and make it accessible to a wide audience. The Business Wall of Fame Contest is being conducted concurrently in the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia.
The categories and prizes of the Business Wall of Fame Contest are:
Best App in Croatia
Prize: A marketing campaign worth HRK 230,000 and a free spot at the ICT Marketplace, the business app online store of Hrvatski Telekom.
Best International App
Prize: Telekom International Cloud Partner status – possible placement to online stores across all six participating countries, with a reach up to 1.3 million small and mid-sized businesses, as well as an excursion to T-Lab Berlin with showcases of innovations and possible cooperation.
Best Startup
Prize: Investment of up to EUR 80,000 provided by hub:raum, and invitation to the "Long Night of Startups", an event in Berlin organized by T-Labs, with own presentation space.
On this occasion, Ivana Beli Oštarčević, Manager of HT's ICT Go-To Market Section, said: „By this Contest, Hrvatski Telekom is encouraging development of innovative ideas by providing startups with the possibility to use office space, IT infrastructure, legal advice, mentoring, use of Deutsche Telekom resources as well as financial support, including future investment cycles, if the project proves to be successful.“
The project Ambassadors are: Sven Marušić, Manager of InfoCumulus company; Tomislav Car, Manager of Infinum company and Ivan Brezak Brkan, Founder and Chief Editor of the Netokracija Portal.
Sven Marušić, Manager of InfoCumulus company: „I support HT's efforts to help all young companies which jumped into the perilous waters of entrepreneurship, especially those who aim high with their products. In times of economic depression, this is the only way to promote hope for better prospects.“
Tomislav Car, Manager of Infinum company: „I joined this project because I believe that new ideas and companies that are able to develop business apps are worth to be supported. Such cooperation between the startup companies or teams and big companies like Hrvatski Telekom may result in the realization of ideas that can be applied in smaller and mid-sized businesses.“
Ivan Brezak Brkan, Founder and Chief Editor of the Netokracija Portal: “The Cloud Contest will be extremely useful to those who wish to point out their solutions among future partners, but also to potential clients!“
The best apps submitted in each country will be determined by voting, after which an expert jury will select: the best business app in Croatia, the best international business app and the best startup business app. By voting for the best app, voters enter a prize draw where they can win valuable prizes. All voters can win a Sony Z2 Xperia tablet, a Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone and a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact smartphone. The winners will be selected in a random drawing among all registered voters.
The first one hundred voters, who are at the same time employees of small and medium businesses, can win six months of use of the Cloud Exchange Mail service. Absolutely everyone can vote for the best applications; all the voter has to do is to visit the official site and to select and click the application which they consider to be useful.
Applications can be submitted until 22 May; voting will be possible from 12 May until 30 June 2014.
