Hrvatski Telekom distributes 20,000 free Perplexity Pro licenses and secures additional licenses for the most powerful AI assistant

Interest in Perplexity Pro, the most powerful AI assistant, has exceeded all expectations, with over 30,000 free licenses provided by Hrvatski Telekom. 

As part of an exclusive partnership with Perplexity, Hrvatski Telekom initially offered 20,000 annual licenses for free access to Perplexity Pro. Due to overwhelming demand and positive user feedback, HT has secured additional free licenses. More than 30,000 Perplexity Pro licenses have been claimed, 50% more than initially planned, and additional licenses will remain available through the Magenta Moments rewards program until May 31.

A total of 25 universities and higher education institutions have joined this initiative, providing students with free access to Perplexity Pro as part of HT's broader efforts to promote AI adoption and digital literacy in Croatia.

We believed people would recognize the value of free Perplexity Pro licenses in their daily lives, and the response has far exceeded our expectations. Nearly 1% of Croatia's population has started using Perplexity Pro since the beginning of our collaboration. We wanted to make AI accessible to everyone because we firmly believe Croatia will progress with greater AI adoption. We are especially pleased with our collaboration with the academic community, as students and professors now can explore and use Perplexity in an academic setting, which we see as a crucial foundation for future applications. Additionally, we plan to launch a comprehensive user education program on the capabilities of Perplexity Pro", said Ivan Runje, Director of Residential Marketing and Product Management at Hrvatski Telekom.

The high demand for Perplexity Pro licenses has also propelled the Moj Telekom and Perplexity apps to the top of Apple's and Google's App Stores in Croatia.

The annual value of a Perplexity Pro license is €233, but thanks to HT and Perplexity's collaboration, additional licenses have been secured, allowing anyone interested to use this AI assistant for free for an entire year. New free licenses can be claimed until May 31, 2025, via the Moj Telekom app under the Magenta Moments section, where users can retrieve their unique access code for Perplexity Pro.

The Perplexity AI mobile app currently answers more than 600 million monthly queries.
