T-esports Championship: Europe's top gamers to compete for a prize pool of €100,000
- Registrations open for T-esports Championship
- The third season of the competition will host top gamers from the Czech Republic and Poland alongside players from Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Hungary
- Registrations for the T-esports Championship are open until September 20.
After two exceptionally successful seasons of the T-esports Championship organized by Hrvatski Telekom, Crnogorski Telekom, and Makedonski Telekom, this year’s competition is expanding to include contestants from the Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary. Following the outstanding success of previous seasons, which saw participation from over 1,000 players, the organizers expect even more entries this year. One of the main reasons for this is the prize pool, four times larger now, at €100,000.
Europe's top gamers
Esports enthusiasts and players from Southeast and Central Europe can showcase their skills and support their favorite players in four popular games: League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Brawl Stars, and EA SPORTS FC™ 24. Teams can register players from all over Europe. The registration is currently underway and ends on September 20. Players can join by forming a team or registering individually. To participate, players must select their preferred game, fill out basic information, and compete against Europe's top players, demonstrating their strategic thinking, game mechanics knowledge, and teamwork. Participants will first prove themselves in the qualification phase, then advance through the elimination and group stages, aiming for the playoffs. The qualifications will be played over several rounds, giving players three or four opportunities to advance to the next stage, depending on the game they are competing in.
Growing young market
The gaming industry, or the computer game industry, has become the largest entertainment industry in recent years, surpassing the film and music industries many times over. The competitive branch of this industry, known as esports, is one of the fastest-growing segments in the entertainment industry, with some studies suggesting its value could double every three years. While the average age of traditional sports enthusiasts is 50, those who follow esports are 26 on average. This is a young audience of a new generation, consuming different content for entertainment compared to traditional sports fans.
"Hrvatski Telekom has recognized that esports is much more than just a game. For young people, it's a favorite way to spend time, socialize, and connect. We wanted to provide all gaming enthusiasts with a platform to showcase their best in a fair play competition. The great interest from Croatian and European gamers in the T-esports Championship shows us that we have succeeded. We are delighted that the competition is growing every year, both in quality and in the number of entries from across Europe. We invite all interested players to register for this competition, showcase their gaming skills, and compete for a prize pool of €100,000," said Tihana Sedlar Krauz, Social Media & Esports Lead at Hrvatski Telekom.
Digital and in-person competition
After the elimination phase, which will take place in a digital format, the best teams will compete in the grand final in Budapest at the spectacular LAN PlayIT event on November 16 and 17. This is an opportunity for amateur and semi-professional players to showcase their skills on a big stage and gain invaluable experience in the world of esports. HT is preparing a big surprise for all esports fans for the final.
