Start of new season of Ultimate Gamer, Hrvatski Telekom's amateur video game competition
The only YouTube gaming show in Croatia, Ultimate Gamer, Hrvatski Telekom's amateur competition in playing video games, is making a grand comeback. Applications are officially open for the spectacular game show. They last until September 15, and in its second season, contestants can expect an even bigger prize pool, the most attractive gaming titles, and plenty of other novelties.
In its first edition, Ultimate Gamer aroused great interest among young people for whom gaming is one of the most dominant activities in their everyday lives. The show generated a total of 936,000 views, and during 19,000 watched hours, the viewers enjoyed a combination of entertainment, intense competitions, and education about responsible gaming.
This year, as many as 14 contestants will fight for the champion title over six weeks of the show or six episodes. The best of them will have the chance to win a significant prize, a gift voucher worth 5,000 euros in Sancta Domenica. People over 14 can apply, and after the selection, they will be divided into two competitive teams. The show will follow exciting games. Ultimate Gamer's first episode will be released on October 21 on Hrvatski Telekom's YouTube channel.
The show's integral part continues to be raising awareness and educating about prejudices in gaming. Research on the gaming habits of young people, conducted by Hrvatski Telekom in cooperation with the SmartUp market research agency, showed that video games are an indispensable part of young people's lives; 97 percent of young people in Croatia between the ages of 12 and 25 play video games on a computer, tablet, or mobile phone; half of them practice gaming every day, and 40 percent of them sometimes get so engrossed in gaming that they forget to eat or drink for a few hours.
"Hrvatski Telekom is again looking for Croatia's best amateur young gamer. The premiere season exceeded our expectations, from views of the episodes to the reactions we received directly from the contestants. We are confident that the show will again attract interest because the Ultimate Gamer is back stronger than ever. We want to talk again about responsible behavior in the digital world and point out the positive effects of video games that help develop the skills needed for the digital age," said Tihana Sedlar Krauz, Social Media & esports project lead at Hrvatski Telekom.
Vital to the show are well-known gamers Marko KC and Aryssa, with years of experience in the gaming world, who will host Ultimate Gamer and ensure that their teams' motivation is always up to the task. The competition will be led by the well-known duo Majalski Tapir and Tetka. Popular streamers will spice up the atmosphere of Croatia's most exciting gaming show with their humor and entertaining commentary. Victory will ultimately go to the most prepared and resourceful.
