Hrvatski Telekom launches integrated mobility in Šibenik traffic app
Hrvatski Telekom, in cooperation with the Šibenik Gradski parking company, has launched the traffic app Gradski parking Šibenik on Google Play and AppStore, which integrates useful information about moving and stationary traffic in the town area.
By using the app, citizens can follow news about the public transport system in one place, check the timetables of city bus lines and the Brodarica - Krapanj boat line, and easily purchase travel tickets.
Through it, citizens can also check the availability of parking spaces at the following ramp-regulated parking lots: Draga, Railway station, Poljana, Krka pier and Izgradnja parking lot. Purchase of hourly and daily parking tickets is possible. At the Poljana location it is also possible to reserve a parking space, which significantly facilitates the planning of daily tasks.
The traffic app was developed as part of the project "Integrated mobility in the area of the City of Šibenik - increasing the number of passengers in the city transport" and is only one of its components. So, in addition to the app, Hrvatski Telekom installed modern information screens at 17 locations in Šibenik, which provide all the necessary information on the movement and arrival of buses at individual stops.
"Hrvatski Telekom’s strategic focus is on the digital transformation of cities aimed at providing new opportunities and improving the quality of life of the entire community, placing great emphasis on sustainability. Our smart city solutions are a critical step forward in building a digital society. Cooperation with the City of Šibenik brings us even closer to our goal," said Ivan Kuhar, Director of the Business Development Department at Hrvatski Telekom.
Modern information screens are made according to the latest ecological standards, are powered by public lighting, and use e-paper technology, which consumes significantly less electricity than classic LCD screens. The designer Ante Filipović Grčić designed the information screens. He found inspiration in the distant past of the Šibenik region, combining decorative motifs from the Danilo culture in five different variants of colors and patterns. The fact that for these information screens the designer received the BIG SEE Product Design Award 2022, which contributes to the promotion of unique and creative achievements in architecture, interior, design, wood, tourism, and fashion, speaks volumes about the functionality and attractive look.
The app ''Gradski parking Šibenik'' is available for download on Google Play and App Store.
