Hrvatski Telekom presents the new #WhatWeValue platform that supports the work of young volunteers
Hrvatski Telekom supports young volunteers and presents the new platform #WhatWeValue. It is a free, global digital platform whose goal is to provide financial support to young volunteers and connect them with experienced leaders of humanitarian and socially responsible actions who can help them achieve their goals.
The only thing that needs to be done is to register a volunteer project, and the best-rated will receive additional, customized support from Hrvatski Telekom.
The support is adapted to the project's needs, from online awareness-raising, provision of resources, or useful content to professional mentoring. The platform uses NFT technology to turn digital connectivity into real value.
Access to the platform is free and open to volunteer project managers between 18 and 30 from all over Europe. Different categories include gender, race and social equality, disability rights advocacy, climate change, urban regeneration, mental health, migration, animal rights, and more.
At the end of each month, the two best projects will receive individualized support to reinforce their goals. There are already almost 100 registered projects from more than 10 countries on the platform, and among them are projects from Croatia - Cleaning Bears, the Shelter for Abandoned Animals of Pobjeda Association, and the Paw in the heart Association Ogulin.
"We are extremely happy to see how generation Z is oriented towards socially responsible action, and volunteering is a perfect example of how young people use technology to initiate actions in the real world and improve our lives and the lives of the communities in which we live and do business. With this platform, we want to support their values and topics that are of particular importance to them, and we invite all those interested in submitting their commendable projects", said Branka Bajt, Director of the Brand Sector of Hrvatski Telekom.
Research conducted by the VICE Media Group in June 2022 showed that as many as 82% of members of Generation Z at the global level are engaged in voluntary work. They state that their greatest motivation for further work is a positive impact on the community, friends, and family.
The platform is part of a program developed by Deutsche Telekom to empower young people through key technologies. It is a continuation of the #WhatWeDoNext and #WeAreFutureproof campaigns, both of which highlighted the unique value of Generation Z in building a more positive world.
The #WhatWeValue platform will include a series of activities. One is a film directed by award-winning Olive Kastebring, featuring real young volunteers and the acronym 'NFT', which will be present on relevant Gen Z social media, including Instagram, Twitch, Snapchat, Spotify, and Tik Tok.
