Hrvatski Telekom has implemented free WiFi internet in the Town of Obrovac and the municipalities of Konavle and Perušić

Hrvatski Telekom has implemented free WiFi internet in the Town of Obrovac and the municipalities of Konavle and Perušić, which provides access to the internet in public locations for citizens and visitors. As part of the European Commission's WiFi4EU initiative, the town of Obrovac and the municipalities of Konavle and Perušić were awarded vouchers of EUR 15,000. Thanks to long-term successful cooperation with Hrvatski Telekom, they chose HT as a reliable technological partner and the best contractor.

Obrovac covered the area of Obala hrvatskog časnika Senada Župana and Ivana Brlić Mažuranić streets with a WiFi signal. "This project has set up and installed several internal and external access points to connect to a free WiFi network, significantly raising the level of free internet access in our area. With the implementation of this project, we have achieved the intention to provide free internet access for the residents of Obrovac, which is used especially by our younger citizens. We also considered the growing number of tourists who visit our area. We are pleased that we implemented this project with the expert assistance of Hrvatski Telekom", said the Mayor of Obrovac Ante Župan.

In the Municipality of Perušić, several internal and external access points have been set up to enable free connection to the WiFi network. WiFi covers all public areas in the Municipality, including the areas of Dom kulture (Community House), the Municipal building, Hrvatski seljački dom, the old post office building, and the park in the town's center. In addition to the previously installed smart benches, with the implementation of this project, the Municipality in cooperation with Hrvatski Telekom, continues to work on further digitalization.

The Municipality of Konavle has chosen to cover the center of Čilipi with the WiFi network. The center has its own cultural and tourist tradition. "For decades, a presentation of Konavle folklore has been held on the square, attracting many regular guests and tourists, and with the WiFi network, the goal was to provide quality wireless internet access in the city center. With this, the Municipality of Konavle continues with further digitalization and application of the principles of "smart villages" and "digital nomads", with the support of Hrvatski Telekom as a partner, said Perica Pušić, the Head of EU Funds and Rural Development Konavle.
