Hrvatski Telekom has partnered with the Croatian Pensioners' Association to jointly cooperate on development and educational projects intended for the elderly population. The goal of this partnership is the digitalization of the Association, member associations, and the elderly in Croatia.
As part of the cooperation, Hrvatski Telekom will work on the gradual inclusion of the elderly in the digital world by developing modern services and products, including those that enable the care about their health. In addition to development, education, and mentoring, Hrvatski Telekom will provide the elderly with access to telecommunications services and digital communication platforms.
"For us, cooperation with the Pensioners' Association is much more than the usual business-partnership relationship. At Hrvatski Telekom, we are always thinking about what else we can do for society. We are glad that with this socially responsible project, we will provide the elderly population with adequate digital tools and help them learn to work with them to be closer and in contact with their loved ones, families, and friends whenever they want. It is vital in the current conditions of less social interaction, which mostly affects this population segment. Through this cooperation, we will not only facilitate their communication but also help them obtain EU funds," said Jerko Dumanić, VP of Hrvatski Telekom's business marketing, SME sales, and management of sales channels.
Hrvatski Telekom is aware of its role in ensuring equal access to technology for all. Accordingly, it will provide pensioners with offers appropriate to their purchasing power and quality equal to all other offers. Technology and connectivity are essential at this time because their availability reduces the feeling of loneliness and isolation.
"The partnership agreement between Croatian Pensioners' Association and HT represents a big step in digitalizing the Association, its members, and the elderly. Especially in these pandemic conditions, it is extremely important that pensioners are connected to their families, neighbors, healthcare, and other institutions that can provide them with the necessary care. Furthermore, we increase the possibility of non-institutional care for the elderly and the extension of their stay in their own home. This will also facilitate the joint use of funds from the Structural Funds. Finally, I would like to point out that this Agreement will enable the most favorable tariff and prices of devices for pensioners and senior citizens. I am convinced that the signing of this Agreement creates the foundation for our future cooperation, which will develop in other directions for pensioners and the elderly, along with the development of technology and new achievements in digitalization," said Višnja Fortuna, president of Croatian Pensioners' Association.
Croatian Pensioners' Association is the largest pensioners' organization in the Republic of Croatia, with over 420 associations and more than 810 branches and clubs of pensioners in all municipalities, cities, and counties.
