- More than 10,000 user units will be able to use ultra-fast optical internet at speeds over 100 Mbit/s
- It is an investment worth HRK 59,428,809, of which HRK 21,995,217 is co-financed from European Union funds.

With a 60 million kuna investment, Hrvatski Telekom introduces fiber-optics in the Town of Krapina and the municipalities of Đurmanec, Jesenje, Petrovsko, and Radoboj
Hrvatski Telekom, the largest private investor in digitalization in Croatia, has started implementing the most modern fiber-optic infrastructure in the area of the Town of Krapina and the municipalities of Đurmanec, Jesenje, Petrovsko, and Radoboj, which will mean enjoying gigabit speeds and the best experience in using telecommunications services for approximately 10,300 user units (apartments/households, business, and public users).
At the end of 2020, Hrvatski Telekom launched a procurement procedure for the design and construction of an optical network for these areas. The selection of the most economically favorable contractor is expected by June this year at the latest. Hrvatski Telekom will complete the fiber-optic network design this year with the selected contractor, and the beginning of the implementation itself is expected in 2022.
Parts of the fiber-optic network will be put into operation successively as they are built. The entire fiber-optic network in this area will be put into operation by the end of 2023 at the latest.
In addition to the superior experience of home internet connection, which is necessary for working from home, holding distance learning, and enjoying entertainment such as gaming, the implementation of this project will improve the use of advanced digital products and services such as e-Citizens, e-schools, e-health, e-parking, and other projects in the smart cities domain.
