Hrvatski Telekom implemented free WiFi internet in the Town of Belišće and the municipalities of Donji Andrijevci and Petlovac

Hrvatski Telekom implemented free WiFi internet in the Town of Belišće and the municipalities of Donji Andrijevci and Petlovac

Hrvatski Telekom has implemented free WiFi internet in the Town of Belišće and the municipalities of Donji Andrijevci and Petlovac, which provides access to the internet in public locations for citizens and visitors. As part of the European Commission's WiFi4EU initiative, Belišće, Donji Andrijevci, and Petlovac were awarded vouchers of EUR 15,000. Thanks to long-term successful cooperation with Hrvatski Telekom, they chose HT as a reliable technological partner and the best contractor.

In the Town of Belišće area, ten access points have been installed through which free internet is provided in the area around several locations: Town Administration of the Town of Belišće, town market, children's playground in the Park hrvatskih dragovoljaca, on Ante Starčević Square, around the Gutmann Palace, the Tourist Board of the Town of Belišće, bus station, Stadium, Belišće Pool and Sigmund Romberg Cultural Center.

"The Town of Belišće is one of the smaller towns that systematically monitors changes in the world and strives to keep pace with the times. We are immensely pleased with this project, which has further improved access to internet services to increase the quality of life and digital connectivity in the town and facilitate access to certain services in public spaces. To improve and create ideal conditions for quality life not only for the residents of Belišće, but also the surrounding communities, and to bring closer the concept of smart cities of the future, in 2016 Belišće installed Steora smart benches in every community in the area. It made it possible for its citizens and visitors to use the free internet and charge mobile devices. Smart benches provided our fellow citizens with free access to internet services, and WIFI4EU upgraded the existing network of free internet", said Deputy Mayor of Belišće Domagoj Varžić.

In Donji Andrijevci area, access points have been implemented at the locations of the Municipality building with a square, park, and school, and Stari Topolje and Community Center have been covered, ensuring free internet access in public areas. Mayor of the Municipality Tomislav Marijanović points out: "This complex project would not have been possible without the expert assistance of Hrvatski Telekom, with which we continue our successful long-standing cooperation. We are glad that we have realized the project of modernization and digitalization of our municipality, all in accordance with our objective of creating better living conditions in the municipality, both for our fellow citizens and for all visitors."

Through the WiFi4EU project, the Municipality of Petlovac is modernizing and digitalizing by implementing access points. By enabling free internet access, it makes the lives of its inhabitants better. "Through this project, access points have been installed that cover the Municipality building with the square in Petlovac, Luč, and Torjanici, while in Baranjsko Petrovo Selo the Culture Center, the Community Center, and the football field are covered. Internet access and connectivity are critical for the social and economic progress of the municipality of Petlovac, and we thank Hrvatski Telekom for the successful cooperation and implementation of this project," said Mayor Milan Knežević.
