The City of Split and HT Group embarking on Split Smart City platform project
Representatives of the City of Split and Hrvatski Telekom Group signed today an agreement for the project of a Split Smart City platform that will represent the digital transformation of city services and allow citizens to quickly and easily communicate with city services via mobile and web apps.
Through the new smart digital system, citizens will be allowed access to all the useful data in one place: the services that citizens or companies have with city companies, information on invoices, debts and the option to pay bills, reporting problems and complaints, kindergarten registration, information about events, as well as submitting requests and receiving documents issued by the city of Split. The system will also be able to integrate with other systems already in use in the city, such as the Split Parking app and NextBike.
"We are making a unique digital platform that will be the foundation for further modernization and digitalization of city services. We have done a lot so far, and now we are making a new digital step forward that will make us even more accessible and more helpful for our citizens. Through better and more transparent communication, simplicity and efficiency, we are once again aiming for what is most important to us - the satisfaction of the people living in Split", said the Mayor of Split Andro Krstulović Opara.
The Split Smart City project is a three-year project divided into three phases in which Hrvatski Telekom will provide the Cloud infrastructure, and Combis the development and delivery of the app solution. Its value is HRK 3.5 million, and the app should be available to citizens by the end of the year.
"There is no progress today without digitalization. Hrvatski Telekom and Combis aim to connect society as successfully as possible with the opportunities provided by new technologies. Smart City solutions are a critical step to building a digital society. We are proud that through this project with the city of Split we will raise the quality of life of its citizens and the efficiency of city companies. The smart city concept has come to life long ago with excellent results, but in Croatia, it is just starting. I'd like to congratulate Split for making such a step forward," said Marijana Bačić, Vice President for Corporate Sales and ICT Services at Hrvatski Telekom.
