- Hrvatski Telekom, as a leader of e-mobility in Croatia and the region, joins the EV driver association Strujni krug
- Strujni krug was established to promote the benefits of using electric vehicles and make it easier for owners to charge
- With more than 250 charging points for all types of electric vehicles, Hrvatski Telekom is the most reliable technology partner in the implementation of EV charging stations
Hrvatski Telekom, the operator of the largest domestic network of public and private EV charging stations, has become a member of the recently established Strujni krug association of EV drivers.
With more than 250 charging points for all types of electric vehicles and more than 50 percent of all publicly available, interoperable EV charging stations in Croatia, Hrvatski Telekom is today the leader in e-mobility in Croatia and the region and the most reliable technology partner in their implementation.
“Investing in the technological transformation of Croatian society, at Hrvatski Telekom, we are determined to help companies and citizens make smart and responsible use of all the opportunities offered by new technologies. However, Croatia is still lagging behind the EU countries in terms of availability of EV charging stations, which still complicates citizens' decision to purchase and use electric vehicles,” said Dino Novosel, e-mobility project manager at Hrvatski Telekom.
That's why Strujni krug was established by Hrvoje Prpić, founder of HGspot and co-founder of the Croatian Business Angels Network, Sasa Cvetojević, business angel, successful entrepreneur and investor, and Maja Jelišić Cooper, entrepreneur, director and co-founder of Klasik TV.
Strujni krug aims to change the legal framework to enable companies providing tech support on e-mobility projects, like Hrvatski Telekom, to install tens of thousands EV charging stations in various locations, including lighting poles next to parking lots, enabling easier and more available charging for EV drivers living in cities. This would also make it easier for new car buyers to choose an electric vehicle instead of a classic diesel or gasoline one.
“We witnessed that a few weeks ago the air quality in Zagreb was so poor that it was not advisable to leave the house. Cars are one of the main causes of such pollution, and today, when technology brings us greater opportunities than ever before, and when electric cars have become a common choice for car buyers in the west, we think the time has come to make changes in Croatia and to provide EV drivers with more charging points. Therefore, we invite everyone interested in clean air to join us and support this environmental project,” said Hrvoje Prpić.
Hrvatski Telekom, whose one of the key strategic determinants is the digitalization of cities, welcomes this initiative which promotes the use of contemporary technologies, such as electric vehicles, to reduce emissions and create a more sustainable and cleaner environment, and ultimately higher quality of life in Croatian cities.
