Tportal’s literary prize jury, chaired by the literary translator Ursula Burger, comprises the literary critic Katarina Luketić, editors and writers Jadranka Pintarić and Miroslav Mićanović, and theater director Ivica Buljan shortlisted five novels remaining in the final selection for a prize worth 50 thousand kunas.
49 titles entered the 12th tportal’s literary prize competition. The competition includes Croatian novels released in the last calendar year that were entered by publishers or authors. After shortlisting eleven semi-final titles, the jury decided to keep these five in the finals:

The tportal’s literary award ceremony will be held on June 3 in Zagreb. In the coming days, tportal will publish the jury’s review texts explaining their choice.
Former winners of tportal’s literary award
Since 2008, tportal’s literary prize for the best Croatian novel has been awarded eleven times. Last year, the best novel was 'Lisica' written by Dubravka Ugrešić, Dubravka Ugrešić, published by Fraktura.
Last year, the best novel was “Gypsy, But the Most Beautiful” by Kristian Novak published by the OceanMore publishing house. This was the second time Novak received the tportal literary prize. He was previously awarded for the novel 'Dark Mother Earth' (Algoritam, new edition OceanMore).
In the previous years, the award was given to the awards were given to the authors Olja Savičević Ivančević for the novel ‘Adios Cowboy’ (Algoritam, new edition Sandorf) and Sibila Petlevski for ‘Time of Lies’ (Fraktura) and authors Dalibor Šimpraga for the novel ‘Anastasia’ (Durieux), Tahir Mujičić for the novel ‘Be Hamlet, Mr. Hamlet’ (AGM), Drago Glamuzina for the novel ‘Three’ (Profil), Zoran Malkoč for the novel 'Roki Raketa' (Profil), Ivica Đikić for the novel ‘I dreamed of Elephants’ (Naklada Ljevak) and Slobodan Šnajder for the ‘Brass Times’ (Tim Press).
