We promote STEM in Croatia
Working with the student community, HT has recognized that students lack a stronger link with the economy, and has launched the HT Summer Practice program which gives them the opportunity to learn about different areas of work and jobs in HT. Since HT is the technology leader and has the latest know-how, our experts are often guest lecturers at faculties and mentoring projects launched by faculties. HT's online marketing experts participated in creating an app for Career Week at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin, and #FERGirl, where an HT employee and former FER student, through her own experiences helped female high school students and graduates in the selection of studies and jobs they could do in the future.
At the initiative of Hrvatski Telekom, Croatia joined the DT’s big international project called “Women STEM Awards” aimed at encouraging young women to start their career in the STEM areas. HT also has stellar status within the Deutsche Telekom Group because of its high percentage of women in managerial positions, and with its example raises awareness and motivates women to make careers in the STEM area and take over the management functions. The humanoid robot Pepper holds a special place in HT's efforts to participate in the promotion of STEM. In dozens of primary and secondary schools she educated students about the importance of the skills required to create a robot.
