For the second year in a row, Hrvatski Telekom won the P3 - Best in Test certificate for the best mobile network in Croatia, further confirming its leading position on the market. The P3 certificate is considered a standard of measurement of network quality and HT’s mobile network is among 10 best of all mobile networks participated worldwide. In this measurement, Hrvatski Telekom has achieved the best result in the P3 measurement history in Croatia, and with as much as 948 out of the possible 1000 points, has further confirmed its goal of providing the highest quality network to every customer. It has been proven by a special segment of the research which included collecting information about network performance during various customers’ activities, in real conditions, without customers’ engagement while the measurement was taking place and without the opportunity to manipulate the collected data. HT’s mobile network showed the best results in how customers use and experience mobile communications on their mobiledevices.
The research was conducted by P3 Communications at the end of November and early December 2018 in different weather conditions in the 8 cities, 17 towns and numerous roads and highways. P3 - Best in Test certificate has confirmed the excellence of HT's mobile data network and in crucial user experience segments - in the speed of surfing and using applications, sound quality, and coverage. This certificate has confirmed that Hrvatski Telekom provides its customers the widest 4G footprint and highest quality of coverage in 4G and enables the use of 4G network in the widest measurement range across Croatia.
“Investing in the future of the mobile network is extremely important for the future of the economy and the entire society. All the activities that we are carrying out in HT clearly lead to connecting Croatia with the best network. We are proud that HT is the technological leader and the front-runner of the digital transformation of the society. This is the result of the fact that we are the largest private investor in Croatia. With the outstanding results we consistently achieve in the local market, we are honored to have a mobile network among 10 best worldwide and the 2nd best mobile network in the Deutsche Telekom footprint. The results of the mobile network quality that we have realized this year on the local and European market prove that our approach is the right one,” said Boris Drilo, CTIO of Hrvatski Telekom.
This year's certificate is of importance to Hrvatski Telekom and it’s customers since last year it began to modernize the complete mobile network around the country, with the aim of further improving the quality of mobile service. The value of investments in mobile network improvement last year and this year will exceed one billion kunas. The focus is on modernizing the radio network according to the SRAN concept - the technology that ensures the coexistence of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G networks on the same equipment, multiplies the capacity of the 4G network and ensures the Internet of Things (IoT) functionality. The new equipment being set up ensures better network coverage, consumes less energy, and the goal of all the activities carried out is to enable the introduction of a 5G network as soon as the necessary radio frequency spectrum is allocated. The current result is a fully modernized network throughout Istria, the Zagreb County and the City of Zagreb, and by the end of the current year, the goal is to fully prepare the other parts of Croatia as well for the implementation of 5G technology. The introduction of the 5G network will enable the entire society to be transformed in a way that will open a spectrum of additional opportunities for using mobile technologies that will change people's lives for the better and improve the economy.
In line with technological advances and user needs, network modernization provides capacities for converged access services, combining the resources and capacities of mobile and fixed networks to provide high-speed internet access services. Hrvatski Telekom will continue this year with the process of enabling higher speeds for fixed Internet users in locations where it is currently unable to provide more than 4 and 10 megabits per second. The solution is in hybrid technology that enables fixed internet users to reach up to 30 megabits per second via the mobile network.
Research by P3 Communication is an internationally recognized independent mobile network research based on a realistic comparison of all competitors on a market, and the P3 - Best in Test certificate is a testament to the excellence of a mobile network. This year’s research included about 120 mobile networks worldwide. P3’s unique testing methodology has been established as de-facto industry standard in more than 80 countries worldwide measuring the quality of the mobile network in voice and data services categories and user experience when using the network.

Hrvatski Telekom is the largest private investor in Croatia. Over the last five years, we have invested more than seven billion kunas in developing a new generation network. In the preparation of infrastructure for the introduction of 5G technology alone, we invest more than a billion kunas through 2018 and 2019. Thanks to investments, HT will provide all users with internet access speeds of at least 20Mbit/s, up to 1GBits/s, by the end of the year. In this way, we create the prerequisites for the development of a digital society - a fast, reliable and secure internet service in all parts of Croatia, in order to enable users to enjoy a better life and everything that technology provides.
