Mentors
The first in a series of mentor workshops called Start Smart with IoT started the practical phase of this year's Generation Next donation program in Zagreb yesterday. With it, Hrvatski Telekom encourages young people and the whole society to acquire new knowledge and carry out practical projects from the STEM area.
The workshops are intended for more than 50 mentors of projects selected by the jury of the Generation Next program in July based on the received entries from all over Croatia. Mentors will gain a deeper insight into the use of Internet of Things technology (IoT) through the state-of-the-art Arduino educational platform. The platform will enable them to provide better implementation of applied projects and structured education of young people who will realize projects through this school year. This week, educations of mentors are held, in addition to Zagreb, in Rijeka, Pula, Daruvar and Osijek, at Polytechnic Pula High Technical-Business School, Rijeka Technical Culture Center, Daruvar Technical School and Osijek Elementary School Franjo Krežme.
This year's Generation Next donation program searched for the best projects from two categories - Digital Innovation with IoT and Research Science Projects. In the Digital Innovation with IoT category, the jury selected 39 projects, which have a perspective of application in education, health, traffic and the area of broader social responsibility. Five projects were selected in the Research Science category.

Young Mentors
Since the launch of the program in 2004, Hrvatski Telekom has supported the implementation of about 300 projects with nearly 10 million kunas, which have contributed positively to various segments of the society.
This year, members of the Jury are distinguished representatives of academia, political and social life and business: Tome Antičić, State Secretary in MZIO (Ministry of Science and Education), Bernard Gršić, State Secretary in SDURDD (Central State Office for the Development of Digital Society), Maruška Vizek, director of Institute of Economics, Zagreb, Goran Kezunović, CEO CARNET, Mislav Grgić, dean FER (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing), Zvonimir Guzović, dean FSB (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture), Neven Vrček, dean FOI (Faculty of Organization and Informatics), Ivica Puljak from FESB (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture), Luka Arbus, manager of the company Pet minuta, Damir Sabol, founder of the company Photomath, Marko Matijević, founder of the portals srednja.hr and mirovina.hr, Paolo Zenzerović from IRIM, Saša Kramar, HT MB member for business customers, Ana Pauzar, director of online business HT, and Nina Išek Međugorac, director of Corporate Communications Department of HT.
