The jury of the tportal’s literary award, presided over by theatrical director Ivica Buljan, comprised also of literary translator Ursula Burger, theater critic Katarina Luketić and editors and writers Jadranka Pintarić and Miroslav Mićanović, chose five novels for the final selection for the tportal literary prize.
64 titles were applied for the tportal’s literary prize, which has its 11th edition this year. The competition includes Croatian novels released in the last calendar year that were applied by publishers or authors. After shortlisting the eleven semifinal titles, the jury decided to keep the five in the final:

The literary award ceremony will be held on June 15 in Zagreb.
Since 2008, the literary prize for the best Croatian novel has been awarded ten times, and with years it became a relevant fact of the domestic cultural scene. The only domestic literary prize is awarded for a novel written in the Croatian language issued by a publisher registered in Croatia and, with the promotion of authors and literary creativity, is aimed at promotion of publishing.
Last year, the best novel was “Gypsy, But the Most Beautiful” by Kristian Novak published by the OceanMore publishing house. This was the second time Novak received the tportal literary prize. He was previously awarded for the novel “Dark Mother Earth” (Algoritam, a new edition OceanMore).
In the previous years, the awards were given to the authors Olja Savičević Ivančević for the novel “Adios Cowboy” (Algoritam, new edition Sandorf) and Sibila Petlevski for “Time of Lies” (Fraktura), Dalibor Šimpraga for the novel '”Anastasia” (Durieux), Tahir Mujičić for the novel “Be Hamlet, Mr. Hamlet” (AGM), Drago Glamuzina for the novel “Three” (Profil), Zoran Malkoč for the novel “Roki Raketa” (Profil), Ivica Đikić for novel “I Dreamed of thew Elephants' (Naklada Ljevak) and Slobodan Šnajder for the “Brass Times” (Tim Press)
