Tomislav Kosanović, Director of Business Development and Partner Management Department in HT, presented the advantages of a new service of electronic data interchange (EDI) for business customers
Hrvatski Telekom, the frontrunner of digital transformation processes in Croatia, has recently presented a new service of electronic data interchange (EDI) for business customers, intended to reduce paperwork, accelerate daily tasks, increase transparency, and cut costs.
EDI is a platform that enables electronic invoice exchange, which, starting from 1 November, will become a legal obligation for all the businesses co-operating with state bodies. Entrepreneurs will achieve substantial savings, since the costs of invoice printing will be eliminated, paper will no longer be used, postal costs for sending paper invoices will be eliminated, data processing procedures will be automated, and risks of errors upon document creation and sending will be reduced. Data shall be transferred in real time, which will accelerate their processing, whereas all the transactions can be tracked and monitored.
"Businesses keeping abreast with digital trends and striving to achieve a higher level of business process automation need to include services like EDI in their operations. EDI system provides HT business customers with a self-service customer portal for independent service management, a monitoring portal for tracking of document sending, receiving notifications about default services via email, and a wide range of other functionalities", pointed out Saša Kramar, Member of the Management Board of HT and Chief Operating Officer Business.
Using the app that performs the conversion of the created document into a pre-arranged standard form instead of printing it, EDI sends it by email to the specific business partner’s address. Hence, the highest level of automation of data exchange process is achieved, whilst simultaneously avoiding carbon copy transactions and paperwork. In addition, data integrity becomes more secure as a result of simpler data management and recording and of the impossibility of human error and safe electronic communication. EDI service has been developed in co-operation with Combis, a leading regional system integrator. The service will be available starting from 16 July 2018.
