El Arabi Hilal Soudani, a Dinamo forward, has been named the best football Player of the Year according to a survey conducted amongst national football team captains by tportal. The survey has been conducted for the 15th consecutive year. Soudani was awarded the title of the best Player of the Year in the Hrvatski Telekom Croatian First Football League exceeding the second ranking Bradarić by 24 points.
The survey conducted by tportal.hr has already become a tradition. Hence, this year, it was yet again conducted amongst national football team captains in Hrvatski Telekom The Croatian First Football League, and the Player of the Year was selected based on the number of votes received. Each football team captain selected five players who in their opinion have shown the best abilities on the pitch in 2017. First ranking, i.e. the best, was awarded ten points, as opposed to the fifth, who received two points. Upon adding all the points, they named the best player of Hrvatski Telekom The Croatian First Football League, a Dinamo forward, who received 70 out of 100 points. He was followed by Bradarić, Rijeka midfielder.
Before Soudani had the opportunity to express his gratitude for the votes received, we reminded him that the title has thus far been awarded also to Niko Kranjčar, Eduardo da Silva, Luka Modrić, Mario Mandžukić, Sammir, Leon Benko, Andrej Kramarić, Marin Tomasov, and Franko Andrijašević
"I am extremely happy and proud of this award, primarily due to the fact that I received it from my team mates with whom I play on the pitch. I believe no one can assess the quality better than those who personally participate in the game. This trophy will be placed on a special position, and it will give me an extra dose of self-confidence that I need next year to correct all the mistakes from 2017, as well as to receive both trophies and make a breakthrough in the matches played at the European level. I would like to express my gratitude to my fellow team mates, coaches, and Dinamo management, as well as the players who voted. I wish all of you and your families a lot of success in the forthcoming 2018", stated Soudani during the presentation of the award granted by tportal.
Soudani is the winner of the 15th Captain’s Choice, whilst last year the captains of Hrvatski Telekom the Croatian First Football League voted Franko Andrijašević the Player of the Year.
