Hrvatski Telekom and the Croatian producer of Greyp electric bicycles have entered into a collaboration for the new model of the Greyp electric bicycle that will be supported by HT's new innovative service, eSIM. This is a huge innovation on the Croatian market, but also within the Deutsche Telekom Group .The connected electric bicycle is expected to be launched on the market next spring.
eSIM is a major technological step forward, as it will replace the use of physical SIM cards and enable independent connectivity to various devices. Therefore, the new generation of Greyp electric bicycles will, via HT's eSIM profile, exchange data traffic between the vehicle itself and the web and mobile applications, without the need for a physical SIM card.
The Greyp bicycle boasts a range of excellent features, such as automatic video recording, monitoring of the cyclist's physical condition, alarm, remote control and exchange of data via social networks. Its other features include: automatic distress call based on data provided by the G-sensor and gyroscope; display, log-in and control of the engine based on the cyclist's heartbeat rate; collection and display of data on speed, distance travelled, Wh consumed, calories burned, duration of the ride etc.
"When we launched the eSIM functionality, smart vehicles were among our priorities right from the beginning. Greyp slots ideally into our strategy of eSIM technology expansion, because it is a Croatian product which is environment-friendly, due to its electric drive. We are confident that eSIM will soon be a global standard in the smart device offering, and HT will take care to offer its customers more and more devices that support this service", said Richard Brešković, Director of the Residential Marketing Sector at HT.
In this bicycle, the physical SIM card will be fully replaced by a chipset supporting HT's eSIM service which will provide the possibility to adjust settings for individual users by transferring eSIM profiles to various devices. In the next two years, the average consumer is expected to have even more than four connected devices, and eSIM technology will make it easier for the customer to connect to several devices.
