At the Digital Takeover Conference, organised on 14 March at Zagreb’s Branimir Centre by the 24sata media brand in order to encourage transformation of the Croatian digital scene and to point out the importance of investing in digital advertising, current digital trends were presented and numerous topics were addressed, such as digital transformation, content marketing, native advertising, influencers, big data, and video. The conference’s programme also included workshops held by the highly-experienced lecturers of Algebra University College, who are at the same time experts in digital marketing.
The conference also offered a splendid opportunity to present awards to the forerunners of digital business in Croatia, namely to companies that are defining the digital market and that are employing best practices in their business operations.
For instance, the Largest Investment in Digital Technology award went to Hrvatski Telekom which, throughout the last five years, has invested HRK 5.7 billion in development of the digital market and the telecommunications network in Croatia.
On the occasion of accepting the award, Boris Drilo, Member of the HT Management Board and CTIO, said:
"I would like to thank you for this award and for the sculpture that is almost T-shaped. Last year, Hrvatski Telekom invested in telecommunications infrastructure and 4G and broadband access, but also in development of the overall digital society. We will continue to make such investments this year and in the years to follow. Recently, we have established the first virtual museum in Croatia. We have also demonstrated that the Internet is not for the younger generation only, but that it is also useful and interesting for citizens aged 60 and over …"
The Best Corporate Responsibility Project award went to Meshpoint startup, HEP picked up the award for Progress in the Use of New Media, Nanobit was presented the Achievements in the Development of Gaming as an Export Product award, and Zagrebačka banka receive the award for Innovative Approach to Digital Advertising.
