- Leading IT service provider in Croatia awarded, again this year, scholarships to FER students.
Leading IT service provider in Croatia COMBIS awarded, again this year, scholarships to students of Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) for 2017. COMBIS, besides scholarships, committed to provide students with experience on concrete development projects from the field of network technologies. Scholars, alongside FER professors’ mentorships, are provided with mentorships from numerous COMBIS experts.
"Last year we awarded scholarships to three FER students and we were extremely satisfied with their contribution to the team. They are no longer scholars, but our colleagues on who we are extremely proud of. This year again we expect the same positive experience with the new scholars“, commented Domagoj Pehar, technical director of IP Communications sector at COMBIS.
"First impressions of COMBIS are great, I am a part of the team where everyone is happy to help with anything. My team works hard on demanding and interesting projects, and there is always time for relaxation at COMIS’s Zen room, from sport activities to playing PlayStation. Those may seem like little things, but they create a good work environment“, said Ivan Nikolić, fifth year student at FER and one of this year’s scholars at COMBIS.
COMBIS supports young IT experts and one of long-term goals of the company is to provide young generations with as many as possible concrete IT knowledge and opportunities to prove themselves. That is why COMBIS formed an internal startup called NeoStartup, participates in many student IT competitions and organizes try{code}catch hackathon.
"Young generations need work experience during their college years that will ease their entrance to the world of work. I would point out the value of a quality mentorship, which is priceless. Leading companies on the market, such as COMBIS, with these initiatives contribute to optimization in Croatian IT with educations and employment", said doc.dr.sc Željko Ilić, docent at Department of Telecommunications at FER.
