Iskon.Smarthome is one of the gadgets that have marked the Croatian technology scene in the year 2016. This affordable solution for remote management of any home has come into existence as the result of the efforts of Croatian manufacturers and designers. The solution’s quality was confirmed by the first users immediately upon its presentation – early bird quantities were sold out in less than a month.
The basic set of sensors from the Iskon.Smarthome set (humidity, temperature, movement, smart power socket and surveillance camera) was soon joined by Osram’s smart bulbs that can easily be controlled by a mobile and web application. And just when we thought that these elements would be sufficient for a WOW effect and gadget of the year status, Iskon came up with additional novelties right before the festive season. And they are attractive enough to let you treat your home to a secure new year, and give yourself peace of mind.
The first novelty is related to the price of the Iskon.Smarthome solution. Until now, the set could be had for a one-off fee only, amounting to HRK 1,999. But, starting from December, Smarthome has become available as one of the items that customers may add to their monthly bill for Internet, TV and telephony services, and this for as little as HRK 39 per month.
Iskon customers may lease the basic Smarthome set and pay HRK 39 per month for as long as they use the service. The price is fixed, regardless of the final number of sensors connected by the customers to their Smarthome. They get to lease the sensors from the basic set and may purchase other sensors depending on their personal wishes and needs.
The otherwise very expensive smarthome solutions that also require all kinds of construction work were transformed by Iskon, within a short period of time, into a simple and affordable plug and play solution, available for every home that their owners wish to make more secure, more energy efficient and smarter.
One of the first sensors intended for home use, that found its way into numerous homes all over the world, was the Netatmo smart thermostat. It allows owners to manage temperatures in their home via the smartphone, tablet or PC screen. The Netatmo thermostat may now also be purchased through Iskon, as an additional sensor to be integrated into the Smarthome system. This means that, in combination with other components of the Iskon.Smarthome set (for instance, the movement or microclimate sensors), the owner can easily set up the rules to be applied by the system in order to adjust room temperature to the conditions in the home and, by doing so, save energy.
"The standalone unit designed by Phillipe Starck is an ideal combination of design, ease of use and technology, just like our Smarthome. We are glad to have established cooperation with this world-renowned manufacturer who also recognized the value of our project", said Iskon’s CEO Krešimir Madunović.
Netatmo points out that users of its thermostat are recording an average of 37% less energy consumption already after the first heating season, which makes investment into this sensor worthwhile within a shorter period of time than any other device. It can be connected to all gas boilers, and in Croatia installation support is provided by Vaillant service centres. In Iskon’s webshop, the Netatmo is priced HRK1,499, and installation will be charged HRK 300.
New Iskon customers or customers who are upgrading their current service package can take advantage of the current webshop campaign, i.e. they can get a discount on the unit even reaching up to HRK 1,000.
