The Magenta Bench, the first bench with the augmented reality code, where all citizens and passers-by can stop and step into the unique experience of extended reality, was presented in the centre of Zagreb on 26 October.
Installed on Europski trg at the Bakačeva and Cesarčeva crossing, the Magenta Bench of Hrvatski Telekom presents a new interactive tourist attraction of the city that would delight the citizens of Zagreb and the growing number of tourists.
It is a part of a broader project called Romantic Zagreb, organised by the 24sata news portal and the Zagreb City Tourist Board, and it is special for its code used for starting the extended reality that enables taking of pictures with a special autumn atmosphere.
It is estimated that by 2025, every citizen of the world will have more than nine gadgets connected to the internet, and around 2020 smartphones will become replaced by gadgets equipped with extended reality, such as smart contact lenses etc. On average, the digital economy is growing seven times faster than other branches, and the crucial contribution here is made by investments in the broadband Internet, which is the main object of investment of Hrvatski Telekom. This bench is a symbol of what we can expect from the future technology.
