On the jubilee COMBIS Conference there will be held a total of 31 lectures, mostly case studies that have included all recent and innovative projects.
On the jubilee COMBIS Conference, COMBIS experts and representatives of their customers and partners will hold a total of 31 lectures about practical usage of ICT, through three segments. First segment is called Digitalized Business, and it refers to presentations about solutions that are encouraged by business digital revolution. Second segment is Cloud, IoT & BigData because Cloud solutions are becoming a more preferred way of business for many companies, while Internet of Things and Big Data technologies are opening numerous opportunities that, until recent, were hard to even imagine. Third segment, Technology-enabled Business is focused on informational technologies and their business application.
This year’s presentations include recent, innovative projects and the intention is to introduce technology through a wide concept, to, on the simplest way possible, show all possibilities and concrete examples on our market. From the lectures we recommend:
Case Study Generali osiguranje: Smart printing
"Expansion of documentation span increases the need for using the documentation itself, and all that starts with its creation – printing. At the same time, faster business rate requires from companies their maximum concentration of their primary business. For that reason printing solutions are becoming more popular and, except enabling companies to focus on their business, they focus on achieving numerous cost savings", said Siniša Staničić, director of IT Infrastructure Division at COMBIS.
Staničić, in cooperation with Marko Šnajder, manager of IT infrastructure, security and support at Generali osiguranje, described all challenges that stand on the way to a new printing solution, explained how migration looks like and what are the results of implemented solution. Printing management enables precise cost planning and avoidance of any sudden print expenses, as well as simplicity during everyday process management related to business documentation, emphasized the presenters.
Case Study Gavrilović: Lower Utility Costs with SmartMetering
To Conference public was presented SmartMetering – a solution that enables precise energy use monitoring – electricity, gas, steam and water. "By implementation of this system data integration comes from hundreds of measuring points. This enables normed use calculations based on individual production lines, cost planning and work production analysis, and, with the help of fast measurements, operators in the energy division of companies can react on time if an error occurs", said Anita Mikić, Key Account Manager at COMBIS.
Considering the great experience in the work with SmartMetering system, Igor Vukelić, manager of IT business solution in Gavrilović, showed how easier monitoring of energy use, high integration of different systems and archiving data was achieved. With all functionalities that enable constant and simple access in consumption state, as well as detection and correction of anomalies; in short time significant cost savings were ensured, concluded presenters.
Application of SDN in DC environment
"Industry trends that give more meaning to business aspect to IT and demand from IT to be more active business partner, resulted with development and usage of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies in data center environment. At one side, the need for bigger capacities in data centers, and, on the other side, the need for consolidation of network resources with security increase by using micro segmentation and faster consolidation of network resources, brought concrete examples of SDN technologies application in data centers, independent of type and size of companies", noted Rajko Mihajlović, manager of business development in IP communication division at COMBIS.
Rajko Mihajlović, in cooperation with Matija Martinović, manager of Service Platform Division at Hrvatski Telekom, described to the Conference participants all challenges that currently exist in data center network environments. He explained the advantages of usage and presented the results of implemented solution in Cloud service of Hrvatski Telekom. SDN technologies are a necessity in the world of network technologies and solving all actual challenges fastens up time-to-market, achieves significant operational cost savings and all with respecting all security policies, said presenters.
COMBIS HireMe application
COMBIS Conference participants were introduced with new COMBIS application solution for more efficient hiring process. This system answers to the company’s business needs to, on a simple and efficient way, connect with top employees that match the profiles companies are looking for. HireMe application has an excellent support for testing that include all standard tests, results and notes entry and test upload, while communication with clients, such as calls for testing, acceptance, declining and arranging second meeting are automatized and simple.
"HireMe application is COMBIS’s solution for hiring process that helps the search for employees to become easier and faster. HireMe application supports creation of job advertisements, of profiles and dynamic questionnaires, and enables automatic scoring and validation. In short, the system automatically recognizes candidates that have fulfilled formal requirements and supports selection process in multiple selection rounds. Moreover, HireMe has support for open applications, for multilingual recognition and numerous reports that can ease company's selection process", notedDanijel Matek, software architect at COMBIS on his lecture.
Case Study NIS: Advanced Graphic Applications from Cloud?
The Oil industry is known to be a leader in the use of the most advanced technologies and technological solutions. NIS a.d. is not an exception. “Challenging question that we had in the early stages of project identification was can we transform conservative and traditional way of management with a specific group of workstations that demand the strongest hardware resources available now on the market? We successfully implemented a solution that will provide end users access to virtualized graphic workstations, which are capable of processing gigabytes of raw data in demanding 3D graphic applications and all of this, in long-term processes, what was not an easy task”, concluded the presenters.
