An incredible amount of energy and a good atmosphere marked the first business race in Croatia
Over 3,000 runners and slightly over 200 companies from the private and the public sector were brought together at the first business race in Zagreb, the B2B RUN powered by Hrvatski Telekom, whilst Zagreb Fair premises transformed into a real race stage for several hours. An incredible amount of energy and a good atmosphere were present throughout the race, which shows that the Croatian companies are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of sports activities for business success and networking.
In the category of small businesses GEALAN team ranked first, supported by their colleagues and a large number of other supporters, whilst Decathlon Zagreb team ranked first in the category of medium-sized companies, and Ericsson Nikola Tesla team in the category of large companies. Nikolina Šustić Stanković from Ericsson Nikola Tesla team won the first prize in women’s individual competition and Dražen Dinjar from Zagrebački Holding – Čistoća Subsidiary was the winner in men’s individual competition. A special prize for the most creative team was awarded to the runners from AlphaChrom, whereas Hrvatski Telekom was conferred the Fittest Company Award.
The B2B RUN race is intended primarily for the business community. It brings together the employees in diverse companies, who create teams of at least three runners and defend the colours of their teams, hence improving the bonding with their colleagues outside the work environment.
"We are delighted with the fact that the Croatian companies have shown immense interest in the B2B RUN race. Races held in Split, Rijeka, and Osijek have also been extremely successful, yet the Zagreb-based race is considered as the pinnacle, which is evident also from the number of racers that has tripled this year compared with 2015. We can express our utmost satisfaction with the fact that a large number of companies has recognised this unique event as a tool of encouragement intended to improve interdepartmental communication and enhance the feeling of togetherness", noted Dijana Vetturelli, the initiator of the B2B RUN race powered by Hrvatski Telekom.
“B2B RUN race has this year motivated and involved over 500 employees of Hrvatski Telekom in diverse sports activities. We have been creating the value of this race from its inception, and we have managed to involve the entire Croatian business community. Our positive experience shows that similar projects increase both the competitive and the team spirit within the company, whilst simultaneously pointing out the importance of recreational sports participation. We are delighted to say that also this year HT can brag about being the fittest B2B company”, emphasised Marija Felkel, Member of the Management Board and Chief Human Resources Officer in Hrvatski Telekom, honorary sponsor of the race.
Organisers have already announced a new B2B RUN race that will, according to them, certainly break this year's records and enhance networking amongst business people, professional and recreational racers brought together in order to achieve a common goal: improved business success in companies and personal growth and development.
