Building on the huge success of Croatia's first business running competition, B2B RUN, which already in its first edition, last year in Zagreb, saw a high level of participation and interest, this year's second edition will be held in as many as four cities. The first B2B RUN is scheduled for 19 May in Split, followed by the runs on 2 June in Rijeka and on 30 June in Osijek, while the final run is planned to take place on 19 September in Zagreb.
B2B RUN is intended for all employees of companies registered in the territory of Croatia. Last year, in its first edition, it attracted more than a thousand runners from 80 companies. This year, the organisers expect to see more than 300 participants in Split, Rijeka, and Osijek, and at least 3,000 participants in Zagreb.
„Employers all around the world are confronted with the same problems – how to increase employee efficiency, how to encourage mutual communication and increase employee satisfaction. In our desire to make our contribution, we decided to support the business community and, in the form of the B2B RUN, to offer a potential incentive tool which will support them in dealing with the above mentioned challenges,” said Dijana Vetturelli, initiator of the B2B RUN.
The title sponsor of the run is Hrvatski Telekom, which found B2B RUN to be one of last year's largest internal communications projects. In HT, we have runners who are beginners, recreational sportspeople, trophy winners, and national team members, and the first B2B run saw the participation of more than 170 employees, who also were ambassadors of the “Together We Are Stronger” donation competition.
“I believe that, by supporting this run, we have chosen the right values in promoting corporate social responsibility. Internal research indicates that sitting for long periods during work is one of the most important causes of concern of our employees. The B2B RUN is an ideal activity, as it helps us to contribute to improvement of our employees’ health, at the same time reinforcing the team spirit, and to contribute to better networking with colleagues from other companies,” said Marija Felkel, HT’s Member of the Management Board and Chief Human Resources Officer.
Bojan Mušćet from HT’s Corporate Communications, an active runner by the way, was also among the participants of the last year’s run. The coordinator of HT’s running team has a message to the colleagues from other companies, which is that they should not worry too much about being in shape, as the mere participation in the run is already a victory.
“B2B RUN is a running competition where world champions can appear shoulder to shoulder with absolute beginners. The essential thing is to have a good time, to get to know people from entirely different working environments, to feel how you can boost your own capacities, and to enjoy every step in nature,” said Mušćet.
B2B RUN is putting together running teams within individual companies divided into three categories: small, medium, and large. In addition to the individual prizes, team prizes are awarded as well. Last year, team prizes went to the companies Atlantic Group, Končar Electrical Engineering Institute, and Raptor which took the first places. Hrvatski Telekom won the Top-Fit Company prize. From this year on, prizes will also be awarded to teams that made the best contribution to the run’s atmosphere.
Participation registration is now under way on the web site www.b2brun.hr, and early bird participation fees priced at HRK 100 + VAT can be paid until and including 19 February 2016.
