HT Museum is participating in this year’s traditional Night of Museums, organised by the Croatian Museum Association for the eleventh time. The Night of Museums will take place on 29 January 2016 from 6 PM to 1 AM, and the visitors of the HT Museum in Zagreb, Jurišićeva 13, will be able to see the exhibition titled “Let’s All-IP Talk” – an exhibition on development of telephony in Croatia from the 19th century to the present day”.
The intention of Hrvatski Telekom is to mark the recent successful completion of the IP transformation project, that is, modernisation of its fixed telecommunications network, within which all phone lines off all customers have been migrated to IP (Internet Protocol) technology. The goal of the exhibition is to introduce the visitors to the complex development of telephony in Croatia in the past 128 years, which reached its peak by the introduction of IP technology. The exhibits and parts of HT Museum collections present the development of all phases of telephony in Croatia, from its beginning to the present day.
The collection and the concept of the “Let’s All-IP Talk” exhibition bring the development of telephony in Croatia closer to the visitors – starting from the time when telephone was a status symbol to the present day, when it is an unavoidable and widely present device. The exhibition also presents the evolution of telephone exchanges, where every new generation gives an answer to key issues of the previous generations, by putting an emphasis on cost, effectiveness, reliability, and quality of transmission.
This complex development of telephony in Croatia will be presented to the visitors of the Night of Museum by professional and attentive curators of the HT Museum. Thanks to the attractive concept, approach, and exhibits, the exhibition will surely raise the interest of the youngest visitors. Except in the Night of Museums, the “let’s All-IP Talk” exhibition will be opened until 1 May 2016.
On this occasion, Hrvatski Telekom will organise a prize-winning contest: all who want to participate in the contest must take a photo at the HT Museum during the Night of Museums and post it on HT’s social networks profiles (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). The photos must be posted with a hashtag #HTmuzej and public settings. The main prize is a HTC Desire 626 smartphone.
