For the ninth year, the Museum of Contemporary Art and Hrvatski Telekom announce a competition for the awarding of four prizes from the area of visual arts called T-HT@msu.hr Prize for Croatian Contemporary Art. The competition will be open from 1 to 31 December 2015.
The competition is open for artists dealing with new communication technologies, multimedia video and audio production, or, on one hand, with media art, such as video, experimental film, and Internet art, and, on the other hand, with the area of crossover between art and technology, such as robotics or electronic art. The invitation is also extended to all artists who are pushing the limits of traditional media with regard to visual arts and social events, or to those whose works of art result from the synthesis of diverse forms of expression and techniques.
This year, the following prizes will be awarded:
Purchase prizes in the following net values: HRK 50,000 for the first prize, HRK 45,000 for the second prize, and HRK 40,000 for the third prize. The purchased works of art will become a part of the T-HT@MSU Collection.
The audience prize in the net amount of HRK 10,000 will go to the artist whose work has received the most votes from the audience. The votes will be counted by a special committee upon the closing of the exhibition. The audience prize is not a purchase prize. Its value will be paid out to the artist in form of an incentive.
The competition is by invitation. The names of invited artists will be announced in due time.
The works of art will be rated and selected by a professional committee.
The full text of the competition, along with detailed application instructions, has been published on the official website of the Museum of Contemporary Art.
