Hrvatski Telekom, the leading provider of telecommunications services in Croatia, has expanded its portfolio of Cisco Powered(tm) services. In collaboration with the company Cisco Systems Hrvatska d.o.o., it has certified Cloud Server, its IaaS service (Infrastructure as a Service), as a Cisco Powered Cloud Service.
The certification is a part of the Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Partner (CMSP) certification, which started last year, as one of the results of the multiannual intensive collaboration of Hrvatski Telekom and Cisco, leading manufacturer of IT equipment and data centres equipment.
Cloud Server is the first certified cloud infrastructure service of Hrvatski Telekom and the backbone of HT’s offer of business cloud services, which allows customers to use virtual servers (VPS) located in a safe data centre and their connection with the Internet, all without making any capital investments. The Cloud Server service can be used for different business purposes, such as website and webshop hosting, testing and development of new applications, operating systems, and platforms, application and data servers, data storage, exchange, and backup, as well as for other purposes.
Prior to the Cloud Server certification, last year, HT certified its business data services Metro Ethernet, MPLS VPN, and Net PRO. Sales results show that the service has been purchased by different-sized companies.
Once a year, the certification is conducted by NSF International, a renowned certification company. It comprises the verification of rules, processes, and resources in compliance with the strict requirements based on ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) recommendations, internationally accepted guidelines for managing the broad spectrum of IT services. In addition to meeting the general requirements, the services also need to be certified in accordance with the specific Cisco’s requirements, upon which they become Cisco Powered services.
“There is an evident increase in the demand for managed and cloud services among the Croatian companies. Hrvatski Telekom has the opportunity and the infrastructure to meet the needs of all companies, regardless of their size. We are pleased that through our partnership with HT we are creating innovations allowing us to provide better services to our clients,” said Ivan Ostojić, Partner Account Manager of Cisco Croatia.
Aljoša Pavelin, Acting Director of the ICT Solution Delivery Management Sector, emphasised: “Since Hrvatski Telekom does not wish to be only an intermediary, but a major actor in business relations with its customers, we are turning to contents to an increasing extent, making our focus on cloud services a logical evolution step towards a digital economy telecom. We see cloud services as our business paradigm allowing us, apart from operational savings and the resulting efficiency, to create an attractive service portfolio and to build a new communication and distribution channel with a global reach. The current fixed, mobile, and cloud infrastructure, direct access to a broad customer base, and our financial strength and stability put us in a position to be one of few companies on a broader regional market which can offer a real Fixed Mobile Cloud Convergence (FMCC) package. With this integrated offer, we have created the necessary prerequisite for regenerating sustainable growth.”
