During the two festival days, many famous international and Croatian performers of electronic music and similar music genres will perform in several clubs in Zagreb.
For the fifth year in a row, Telekom Electronic Beats festival of the contemporary electronic music will be held in Zagreb, on 6 and 7 November. The festival was founded by Deutsche Telekom and it gathers the most popular global musicians and the most interesting local representatives of this musical genre. After Podgorica, Bucharest, and Budapest, Zagreb will be one of the first European cities to host this unique music event in an even more attractive two-day format and under a new name – Telekom Electronic Beats Festival.
During the two days of Telekom Electronic Beats Festival, many popular international and Croatian performers of electronic music and similar musical genres will perform in several clubs in Zagreb. On 6 November, Young Fathers, a hip-hop and pop band from Edinburgh and the stars of the Festival, also the 2014 winner of the prestigious British music award Mercury Prize for their debut album Dead, will perform in Teatar &TD, together with a French alternative band Talisco, London-based due Ten Fé, and Croatian electro trio called Tomislav. On the same night, at the popular Sirup club, the visitors of the Festival will be able to enjoy in the performance of the Croatian DJ Pytzek, live act of the very popular Bulgarian DJ and music producer Strahil Velchev titled KiNK Live, as well as in the performance of the Danish producer and DJ Kölscha.
From a new dance music style to Sudanese pop
On the second day of the festival, 7 November, the visitors of Telekom Electronic Beats Festival will be offered musical treats in Močvara. The venue will host Kozmodrum, a band which plays a new style of the club dance music, nicknamed Organic Dance Music. The frontman of the band is a renowned jazz and rock multi-instrumentalist, Janko Novoselić. Močvara will also host a rising American hip-hop star, poet, and activist Mykki Blanco, and the British musician Sinkane, who successfully combines krautrock, free jazz, and funk with Sudanese pop. On the same night, in Teatar &TD, the visitors will have the opportunity to see the performance of one of the best younger DJs, DJ Koze from Germany, and to be entertained by the top-quality Croatian DJ and producer Ilija Rudman and a young British electronic musician Romare. Furthermore, the Zagreb Festival will also have a rich multimedia programme. The venues and schedule of this part of the Festival will be soon announced.
Founded in 2000, Electronic Beats presents the international music programme under the sponsorship of the Deutsche Telekom Group. It includes interesting multimedia events, concerts, and other live performances all over Europe. The online offer also includes the Internet radio station called Electronic Beats Radio, which streams various podcasts, and a video channel called Electronic Beats TV broadcasting video clips from the festival, interviews with the performers, and weekly music news.
