Following the last year’s successful contest, Deutsche Telekom this year again continues with Telekom Innovation Contest that enables teams to integrate their innovative products and services into the DT’s service portfolio. Creative teams of students, entrepreneurs and young IT startups can apply their ideas in three categories until October 15 on the web page www.telekom-innovation-contest.com.
The submitted solutions should cover one of the categories: Smart Data Analytics, Future Communication or Industry 4.0/ Internet of Things. Because Deutsche Telekom is looking for mature ideas, the teams have to present at least a working prototype.
The Telekom Innovation Contest was created in 2013 by Deutsche Telekom’s Innovation Laboratories in Berlin, T-Mobile Poland and Magyar Telekom in Hungary. From 2014 on, the competition is also supported by all of Deutsche Telekom's incubators - hub:raum in Berlin, Krakow and Tel Aviv, along with Kitchen Budapest, innovation laboratory, and UQBATE, a program for employees. Other national companies in the DT Group in Central and Eastern Europe, including Hrvatski Telekom, also participate.
This year’s contest sends the best teams to an exclusive innovation fair, Innovation Expo in Budapest, where startups will meet the business units of DeutscheTelekom. The teams that apply, have for the first time a chance to take part in a unique event taking place in Budapest on November 12 this year. The Innovation Expo is a platform created to foster the exchange between the startup and the corporate world of Deutsche Telekom. Beside a spot at the fair, the teams are invited to meet decision makers from DT’s business units, venture units and national companies.
This year’s contest was kicked off at Startup Night, on September 5, at Telekom’s representative’s office in Berlin. Heinrich Arnold, Senior Vice President Innovation & Laboratories of Deutsche Telekom and Global Head of Telekom Innovation Laboratories, officially opened the contest
