Today, in the Congress Hall of the Adriatic Hotel, Opatija, at the International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics – MIPRO 2015, the MIPRO Charters for exceptional contribution to ICT technology development were awarded at the presentation ceremony. Bojan Mušćet, Senior Public Relations Expert at Hrvatski Telekom, received the MIPRO Charter for exceptional achievements in the field of technological communications and Dragan Petric, Executive Editor of the Bug monthly magazine, received the MIPRO Charter for exceptional achievements in the field of technological journalism.
The MIPRO Charters were presented to the winners by Petar Biljanović, Prof.,Dr.Sc., President of the International Programme Committee of the MIPRO Convention, who on that occasion pointed out that the long-time media work of Mušćet and Petric had greatly contributed to the popularisation of science, technology, electronics, and microelectronics in Croatia and also in the wider region. “Their work is appreciated equally among the established ICT experts and those who are yet to establish themselves as such. Their long-time continuity of promoting technological sciences in a high-quality, objective, and widely appreciated way shows, without doubt, their intention and dedication to the spreading of ideas also promoted by the MIPRO Association”, pointed out Biljanović.
For a number of years, MIPRO has been granting awards and certificates of merits to ICT scientists, businessmen, professionals, and students. This year, for the first time, the organiser decided to award a certificate of merit to those who communicated on ICT technologies through media, selecting two among them who did it best. “We feel exceptionally honoured to receive these Charters as acknowledgment, especially taking into account that they are awarded by the organisation with the longest tradition in the popularisation of science and technology in this area. We feel it as an incentive to continue acting through media in the same professional way as we have done so far and thus conveying our passion for technology also in the future”, said Mušćet and Petric.
