On Friday, 13 March, the exhibition of the Croatian contemporary art T-HTnagrada@msu.hr opened in the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb, which, for the eighth year in a row, offers a cross-section of the new artistic creation.
The exhibition is the best way to show the widest audience what the Croatian contemporary art is and to satisfy the curiosity of the audience by enabling a direct contact with such art, explained the President of the committee of experts and Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Snježana Pintarić. She also used the opportunity to thank to all her associates, especially to Hrvatski Telekom, as the main partner of the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The exhibition was opened by the President of the Management Board (CEO) of Hrvatski Telekom, Davor Tomašković, who also mentioned that the competition for the T-HT awards is a project of great importance for Hrvatski Telekom because it meets the excellence criteria, which is also the leading business criteria of Hrvatski Telekom and the criteria according the which the cultural projects are chosen. He added that for HT, the cooperation with cultural institutions is much more than providing support to culture, it is a part of comprehensive efforts to improve the quality of life for all in the community the company operates in. “I am glad that our efforts have been recognized by broader audience and that every year these exhibition witness a large number of admirers of contemporary art”, said Davor Tomašković.
For the eighth year in a row, the Museum of Contemporary Art and Hrvatski Telekom present four prizes for works in the segment of the contemporary visual art. This important event has already traditionally been presenting the relevant cross-section of the current situation in the Croatian contemporary art.
The partnership between Hrvatski Telekom and the Museum of Contemporary Art is and exceptionally valuable and one of the most successful examples of cooperation between culture and business sector. The T-HTnagrada@msu.hr project today is a recognizable and important contribution to development of the Croatian contemporary art, which is best confirmed by the rich response of artists of all generations and all kinds of creative expression. As a leader in the segment of innovations and new technologies, HT sees art as an exceptionally important field of human innovation, which additionally enriches lives of people and contributes to enhancement of the quality of life of the entire community we are active in. The increasing number of visitors at the exhibitions of selected works of art confirms that the joint project of HT and the Museum of Contemporary Art has been accepted in public and that investment in art is worthwhile.
The committee of experts comprising Snježana Pintarić, director of the Museum of Contemporary Art and president of the committee of expert, Leonida Kovač, art theorist, Peter Kogler, multimedia artist from Munich, Igor Španjol, curator of Modern Gallery, Ljubljana, and Leila Topić, curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art, selected 31 works of art out of 166 that were applied for the competition this year and another authors (Lovro Artuković, Martina Kramer and Goran Škofić) were invited to participate in the exhibition, which makes a total of 34 works of art that will be presented in the Museum of Contemporary Art from 13 March to 12 April 2015.

During this period, the committee of experts will award 3 purchase prizes. The value of this year’s purchase prizes will be as follows: the first prize amounts to HRK 50,000, the second prize amounts to HRK 45,000 and the third prize amounts to 40,000 – and the purchased works of art will become a part of the T-H@MSU collection. However, this is an exhibition where the audience also has their say. The audience award will also be presented to the work of art with the most votes cast by visitors and the luckiest visitor will receive a special prize. The audience award amounts to HRK 10,000 (net) and it will be presented to the artist whose work of art gets the most votes cast by visitors.
