The system is designed to help IPTV platform predict demand and personalize content, improve customer satisfaction and provide interactivity and engagement of viewers. Furthermore, it can be used as an invaluable tool in the decision making process regarding the choice of attractive content, channel packages, VoD offers and even advertising.
HT will provide to third parties (advertisers) Access to data in a limited and fully anonymised form for a monthly fee, which will maximize the potential of Big Data in the area of IPTV industry.
"Hrvatski Telekom has already many times so far proved to be a pioneer in launching new technologies and services, from the first IPTV platform in the Deutsche Telekom Group, to the first cloud service in the wider region. We're sure that the field with great business potential as Big Dana will also be a success and that we will once again affirm ourselves as a pioneer of new trends. The data that are available and collected today are the greatest asset of any company, and we have seen their successful commercialization over the last few years, through the examples of Google, Facebook and Twitter. We recognized TVbeat as the right partner that will enable us to use the data that we are already collecting to improve our business processes and open up new business opportunities and create new revenue streams", said Jerko Dumanić, Director of Business Marketing Sector.
"During the development of the pilot phase TVbeat demonstrated the advantages that their technology can bring to the consumer habits of TV viewers. IPTV platforms offer customers a wide range of TV channels, most of which are not included in the standard measuring of TV viewership present in the domestic market. Therefore TVbeat will certainly be a very useful tool", said Saša Kramar, CEO of Iskon.
"The realization of cooperation between Hrvatski Telekom and TVbeat for us is a very important step and business success that paves the way to spreading the cooperation to the Deutsche Telekom Group in other European markets," said Magdalena Malinova, VP of Business Development Adriatic. "TVbeat service has great potential in the European markets and beyond, and we are especially proud of the fact that Hrvatski Telekom was the first platform that recognized this potential. Recognized as a leader in innovation, Hrvatski Telekom is the first member of the Deutsche Telekom group to take advantage of the potential of Big Data for the quality management of their content, offerings and relationship with customers. Also, this partnership allows Hrvatski Telekom to maximize the commercial potential of data about the viewership and opens up new business opportunities through monetization of this data."
